How to spend the perfect day in Breckenridge, CO

Updated: Aug 14

This is my 3rd time visiting Breckenridge in the summer and it never disappoints. There is so much to do and see. Let's get into it!

1 Day Itinerary

Walk Historic Downtown:

After finding some parking which you pay for by the hour, you'll want to walk all around historic downtown. My favorite place for Coffee and a sweet treat is at Clint's Bakery & Coffee House. Get the carrot cake. Even if you aren't a big sweets person. Just trust me on this.

Apart from the many t-shirt and souvenirs shops, there's also jewelry and boutique shops and tons of food options from Sushi to Ice cream. There are a few museums that are worth your time! Most are free and accept donations. I thoroughly enjoyed touring the old mining houses and learning about the history of Breckenridge.

Dip your toes in Blue River:

Blue river runs right through Breckenridge which is not only scenic but fun. You have to dip your toes even though the water is so cold! There were kids in swimsuits playing in the water. I don't know how they do it!

Farmers Market:

A must do for us whenever we visit is the Breckenridge Farmers Market which is Sundays from 10am-3pm. Personally I love that its a little later in the day because we are not early risers lol. I love that we find like minded people here. We only eat organic whole foods and love hand crafted products. Organic, homegrown fruit is the BEST. We stock up.

Tip: Another close by Farmers market is in Dillon Colorado on Fridays from 9am-2pm

Lunch:

We personally love going to Whiskey Star Smokehouse for the best BBQ in Summit County. Pro tip: always order meat by the pound. Its the only way to get the most bang for your buck! We always get the briskets, full rack of ribs, and this time we got turkey.

BreckConnect:

This is such a run activity! Completely free in the summer Gondola ride that brings you to the top of the Ski Resort. Just walk right up and get on. You'll ride bring over lush fields with water and beautiful pine trees. Once you reach the top there are all sorts of activities like the downhill slide, mountain biking, trampoline bungee jumping and even the mountain coaster! My sister in law was the only one that did the mountain coaster because it was a little pricey at $50 but when in Rome! There are also places to eat here where you can grab a bite and watch the fun.

Did I miss anything? I hope you enjoy Breckenridge as much as I do.
